SPACEHAB TO CLOSE WASHINGTON, D.C. OFFICE

Houston, Texas (October 1, 2003) - 

SPACEHAB, Incorporated (NASDAQ/NMS: SPAB), a leading provider of commercial space services, today announced that it will be closing its corporate office in Washington, D.C. and consolidating those operations into its headquarters operations in Houston, Texas.

The Company has initiated these actions as part of its continuing efforts to further reduce operating expenses and improve profitability. A transition plan to address the consolidation of functions currently operating from the Washington, D.C. office is being developed. The Company expects to complete this transition by December 31, 2003.
