SPACEHAB RETAINS NEW ACCOUNTING FIRM

SPACEHAB, Incorporated (NASDAQ/NMS: SPAB), a leading provider of commercial space services, today announced that the audit committee of the Company's Board of Directors has selected the accounting firm of Grant Thornton LLP as SPACEHAB's new independent auditor.

SPACEHAB reassessed its independent auditor engagement after the Company closed its Washington D.C. office at the end of December 2003 and consolidated corporate operations at its Houston, Texas headquarters. Chief Financial Officer, Brian Harrington said, “We simply needed to retain a firm with a Houston presence and with the available resources to support the Company's business requirements while ensuring we received the finest audit support available. Grant Thornton has a solid reputation for professionalism and service with proven expertise in the government contractor industry."
